Wilderness Christian Foundation

It all began with an idea.

The Wilderness Christian Foundation has not been established yet. With that said let me explain what our mission will be.

The Foundation in its entirety will be a for-profit organization. Much like the Fund it is named after it will operate under total transparency. Which, unlike any other private for-profit outfit, we are not required to do. I and those I work with believe that if you are operating as a part of an outreach program you need to not only be accountable to the public you’re trying to serve but also to yourself.

This began as an idea from a video I saw awhile back. Which sparked something inside myself that I had already been going through. Having left faith in my early teens and rebelled ever since I essential cast myself into the wild. After being out in the wild all these years I have come to realize that it is only through Christ we are saved. My problem though was the way the church operates. They try and cram a rigid system of ideology down your throat thinking that only their way is the only way that works and is the only way to Christ. When in fact you do not have to go to a building built by man and to then to be preached at by some pastor for 45 mins every Sunday to be saved. That system is too rigid and unyielding that it turns people off and away from the church, especially the young.

When we do come back in from the wild, those same unyielding systems are in place. So, what are we to do? The wild ones returning aka need someone who has gone through that experience to help shepherd them, thus the need for the Wilderness Christian Foundation.

Your everyday all day born in the church stayed in the church their whole life has no idea what it was like out in the wild. They can not see things from our perspective. I know they try, but sadly several of those Christians fail to understand that we need a different form of structure. Do not get me wrong, many of them are good people and they mean well, but you can not cram Jesus into someone in a day or two and expect results to stick.

That is where we come in. The Wilderness Christians who have been out in the wild ourselves and returned. Those of us who returned to the faith on our own, where God has called us to serve in a capacity that others cannot. We see and understand the wild ones because we are ones ourselves. Jesus teaches us to love one another in all our forms, so we must walk into these things with open eyes, hearts, and minds. Ready to help the wild ones with the real struggles of adapting back to what God has intended for each and every one of them all along.
